Well I have woven the first scarf off, and am reasonably happy with it. I am not to sure about the white linen weft so may end up popping it in a dye pot at some point.

The measurements on the loom were 56cm wide x 231cm long. I am about to do the finishing so will add more info and images after

New warp started

Warp being wound on back beam. Over twisted wool, linen copper and silk/stainless steel. So I didn't use any of the warp selections I chose, so will have to post another picture of final choice

Ready to find the cross.

Threading started.
Over twisted wool - GRRRRRRRR

Will I have the warp threaded through the headles, it has taken 4 days and there is not a lot of threads its just been so hot in the studio that I can only stay about an hour each time. Unfortunately  I have not been about to go out early morning when it would be a bit cooler so a hour at a time  it had to be. Better than nothing.
The over twisted wool is a real bugger and has a mind of its own and not a good mind at that.
The warp is 8 metres so I should get 3 scarves and hopefully a sample to play with.

Mel fixing the loom again. It does not like you to change patterns, as soon as you remove and replace the pegs and lags poof it takes hours of readjusting to get it going again.

Still getting the design right and loom working properly

Finished pink and white warp

Plain weave neck wrap 120cm x 38cm

Waffle weave (front) plain weave (back)

Waffle weave scarf 34cm x 150cm

Well the pink and white warp is woven and off. I am disappointed with both scarves as the over twisted wool was not over twisted. Well it certainly looked it and the sample twisted but when woven it has a slight crinkle and the scarves just look a bit messy.

Weft over spun wool and the warp is wool, over twisted wool and polyester.
Waffle weave scarf:
original dimensions off the loom 40cm x 155cm
washed dimensions 34cm x 150cm

With the neck wrap I was hoping for stripes of over twisted wool that would be pulled in tight and the polyester making a ruffle alas not to be, well we live and learn!

Why Always Pink?

This is am old piece or work I did in my final year of uni, Back Paddock 2003, silk and copper with natural and commercial dyes. Woven pleats

Ok what is it with pink? I always go back to pink. Is it a subconscious think? I was never a pink person then at UNI I became a pink person all my work was pink and I started wearing pink clothing. Now my work has gone back to pink. This is the pink and cream warp I wound 2 weeks ago going on the loom today. I have threaded it with a pointed draft 1234321234321. Now the quondery what to weave now? I think the weft isto be all cream and maybe some over spun and some plain weave cream.
